Video Update #1
Hey guys, the web is slow here, so I'll be fast. There are new pictures (and I fixed the geotagged album link at the top of the page). Also, there is this video update:
Nice, Vimeo just posted your video. I see that Shira has not quite adopted the "a dog that simply gets too near me is liable to die at my hands" mentality, yet. But the possession of pepper spray is probably going to change that. :)
I miss you too. I am very glad that you have decided to blame your problems on me, and have decided to reciprocate by blaming all of my problems on you.
I hate you people almost as much as I want to be there.
Ed -- I tried to take your tyre advice, but everything in my tyre size was on backorder, so I took Eric's tire advice instead. Only two flats the whole trip though, and I think they were both caused by Rob...
Shira's description is not entirely accurate. She was actually not able to get either of our suggested tires. The Marathons you suggest were sold out, while the Vittorias that I suggest were not available (perhaps not made in 26"?). While I did suggest that she buy the Conti tires that she used, that was mainly because she was spending too much time worrying about the decision and not because I have any knowledge of the tires.
I have recently been working on a bike route that is themed after early American Industry and travels the C and O Canal, the Great Allegheney Passage, up to the Erie Canal, down the Hudson river valley, and back to DC. I call it the NationBuilders Route (google maps link). Having ridden about 70% of it personally, I can say it would be a nice trip. See blog post for more.

I wish I could be on the trip with you guys.
Thanks Eric! I enjoyed the video and the new pictures. Looks like an adventure!

Important question remains, Shira, did you take mine or Eric's advice on Tyre selection?
